  • WINTER'S HARBINGER

    Driving on I-70 West,
    Near the Genessee turnoff,
    Is the picture best,
    Framed no less.

    DSCN0312

    Of our gorgeous Rocky Mountains,
And a bit further is a better view,
    The scenery surmounting,
    Any thing man can do.

    DSCN0313

And on the crests you can see,
    A dusting of snow,
What in weeks will come to we,
Starts up high and then comes low.

One of the old houses in Idaho Springs.    I notice that the residents of some of the mountain towns accentuate the architectural details by a careful choice of colored paints.      Some of these homes date back to gold mining days.

  • I love that beautiful home!

Also I have memories of driving on I 70...not really such good memories since we were stuck on the side of the road for ....HOURS.   But we did enjoy the scenery while waiting for the tow truck.

  • Enjoyed the trip. Keep em coming!

  • Mye eye is always drawn to the houses that are painted with vibrant colors. I think too many folks are afraid of color.

  • And such BLUE skies!

  • I emailed you my update notice and it bounced back.  Did you give that email addy up?

  • Awesome pictures. Makes me want to go see the mountains. I will be seeing the Tucson mountains when I go see John later this month.

  • If there is a historical designation the choice of colors may have to meet some committee's approval.

Love the holly hocks. Wish I could grow them Did one year.
