  • WHITECAPS

    DSCN0228

    Aspen  gold hunting,
    A bit before now,
    Skiffs of snow bunting,
    Higher mountains.

    But,  chain law in effect,
    As snow falls up there,
    No way to reject,
    What is fair.

    So, widespread the snow,
    In our mountains,
    And we know,
Summers water will be in fountains.

Heather and I got our flu shots this morning.
All set now for the winter.

  • Flu shots are very important and we should thank God they are available.  Beautiful mountains...ahh, but all of God's handiwork is so.  Bless you.

  • Glad you and Heather got your flu shots.  We will be getting them as soon as somewhere around here has them available.  The hospital up the street usually has free ones.  I need to call about that on Monday.  Last year, it was critical that every one in our family have a flu shot, because H's immunity was being wiped out in preparation for his bone marrow transplant.  Ironically, he did not have one, as it would have done no good in his condition.  But no one else dared to infect him with something!  I am grateful things are not as urgent now.

  • We've also had our flu shots.  However, I had a reaction to mine the last time.

Beautiful picture.  It's still too hot here and won't cool off for several days.

  • Beautiful mountain shot, Doug.   I understand your changeable weather is starting.    When we lived near Denver, my friend and I got a sunburn one day, and the next day it snowed!   We were in the foothills where weather was so unpredictible.  We left soon after that, as our Texas blood is much to thin to withstand too much cold.

Glad your son is doing better.    I hope his knee replacement goes well too.

  • I love the poem and the picture.

    Yeah for flu shots.

Yeah I have been working on my craft room for a while .

It seems the work is slow and time consuming.

I do like crafting and my old room is becoming one of my childrens room.

    You have a good one.

  • What a beautiful picture to start the day with!

  • I'm at a loss how each year they come up with new flu vaccines but so many other vaccines they can't seem to do.

  • I hope you're ready for winter! I saw that you guys got snow the other day! Seems like winter is coming early this year, although we're enjoying our little Indian Summer at the moment. Won't last long though -- Indian summer, like love, is fleeting. (My all time favorite t-shirt says: "Love is fleeting -- stone tools are forever." Maybe you have to be an archaeologist to appreciate it.
    Hugs to you both
