  • A LONG DAY

    Not much new,
    Errands normal,
    Much to do,
    At day's end get formal.

    Visit our son,
     A fever running,
    Pain level five,
    A knee being cunning.

    Swelling,
    Docs trying to find why,
    No way of telling,
    If he'll go home by,
    Sunday.
    --------------------------------------------------
Poor kid,  he has to get over this surgery in order to shape up for knee replacement,   long hard row ahead.  The docs put off his discharge,  tentatively Sunday now.

Thanks for your prayers and good vibes,  I am sure they are helping.

  • Doug, your son is absolutely in my prayers, as are you and Heather.  I would happily take any kind of pain, rather than have my kids be in pain, and I understand how hard that has to be for you.  I also hate that he is in pain, of course.  I hope all the concerns resolve themselves and that he will be in good shape for the knee replacement.

  • I am praying too, Denver Doug.

  • So sorry to hear of the setback. My own son (now 39) tore a cartilage in his knee playing high school football and had two surgeries to repair it, neither of which really did the trick. He never was able to play again like he had hoped and it just broke his heart at the time. I'm foreseeing he'll have arthritis in that knee one day.

  • I agree with Kathi...I'd rather be in pain myself than know that my kids or grandkids are in pain(whether it be physical or emotional)

  • Too bad he is having trouble with it. I thought this was the knee replacement. Must have gotten that wrong.

  • It does sound like he has some major challenges ahead with mobility and morale but I think with you and the rest of his family rooting for him the net result will be joints that work again..and a less painful life.

  • Hi Doug, my very, very best wishes for your son!! I'm sure he'll be fine.

RYC: Thanks so much for your lovely comment on my "melancholy" post. I felt very sad at what you'd written about those poor people Heather saw at the facility. It's tragic that parents and families in general could ever abandon their children like this.

  • Sending prayers, hopes, and lots of white light to that son!  There is hope

  • Prayers to you, and be well.

  • Yes this may be worrying , Doug . I believe your son will have to wait a bit  for his knee replacement , don' t you think so ?
I wish to him a quick improvement from his hip surgery .
I guess you are both worried . I am with you .

    In friendship

  • My thoughts are with you and your family, Doug.
