  • FUSION OF CONFUSION

I went to the zoo today,
    It startled me muchly,
To find I was the one on display,
    Fate has a hate suchly.

On my way out I went to,
An Easter egg hunt on Labor day,
And was plastered with egg nog goo,
Startled by Thanksgiving firecrackers, oh I say !

    I do wonder,
    What day my birthday,
    Through some remarkable blunder,
Will happen on a weird hour ?

    The light is red,
But the cloud zoo marches on,
    Boggles my head,
Think I’ll have a bon bon.

  • Your writings are such a delight to me. I like your writing about where the sidewalk ends. Very clever indeed.

  • It was like a carousel of images denying space and time .
Thank you for your message . I believe you are right about the heating of the coffee – pot . They put it on a stove to have the percolation then the coffee was kept warm with the candle or other source ( It is me who add the candle in the small cup at the centre of the porcelain stand .)

  • What a beautiful little poem! You really are good at doing this, Doug.

  • very nice capture…

  • Oh that all sounds so rediculously funny. Wish I could understand exactly what happened to you at the zoo!

  • I read this once and thought “WHAT??????”.  Read it again, and just enjoyed it.  For some reason, it reminds me of an old silly saying that a girlfriend told me when I was nine.  “Thirty days hath September, April, June and no wonder—all the rest eat peanut butter sandwiches, except for Gramma—she drives a Buick.”
