Oh, if that could only be me,
    With faithful companion tugging ahead,
    And yet I can see,
My feet and other parts full of lead.

But you can’t stop me from wanting,
    Back to  days of yore,
    When fate never daunting
I could do that and more.

  • We have a cat but in is like a dog as if he is out and sees you leaving he will follow you . That is a lovely photo of the 4 generations

  • But you wrote about it and went with him in your mind’s eye…

  • as Leonidas says – that’s what our brains are for…

  • Married life is the first time ever that I have been without a pet.  My husband on the other hand has never had one, not even a goldfish.  So for his birthday I bought him a beta.

We decided yesterday that we’re going to have to wait a couple years to get a dog, that it wouldn’t be fair to get one while we’re both still so busy.  However, we are going to get a cat next year, so at least I will have some four legged cuddly creature in the house.  I’m quite looking forward to it.

  • I have a Boston Terrier that literally pulls me along when he’s on the leash.  I can never go fast enough for him.  I suppose that this is considered bad behaviour in a dog, but it is sort of fun!  I could run like a deer back in the day – not so any longer, so we’re in the same boat my friend!  Peace

  • I wish for the same thing and I’m 35.

  • My favorite replay of a Johnny Carson show is when James Stewart recited the poem he wrote for his dog. I cannot watch it without crying … even when I have seen it a dozen times. I cannot have a dog. My dear companion as a child was old Shep, who was born the same year. He died when I was 13. I will  never forget him.

  • I never knew till this last year how much a dog friend can do for a person.I spend most of my time now at home with my son who has quadriplegia while the rest of the family is out and about in the day.The two dogs who live here with us ,a miniature schnauzer (who is allergic to everything)and Zoe who is a big old Heinz 57 (with a lot of German Shepard in the mix ) keep me ,and my son Joseph and the cat entertained and watchful as both are goofy , affectionate and both are thieves.
Lovely pictures.I lived in Denver once. Colorado is high on my list of beautiful places.
    Nice to meet you.
