BOON COMPANIONAcross the street from me,
Is a tree,
In the fall 'tis easy to see,
Somewhat alike we be.Somewhat drunk the trunk,
Skinny gnarly limbs bare,
Almost bare on top, I thunk,
But still the glee is there !
--------------------------------------
I watched this tree come green in the Spring
And its glorious canopy of green,
Till in the Fall the leaves shimmered in gold,
Till they began to fall,
Much is to be seen,
'Twixt the two of us,Perhaps ?

I think that I shall never see,
a friend like Doug, much like a tree.
Yes, you trunk is knarled, and limbs are bent,
but still your time is ever spent
in snapping pics with poems so royal,
to post for us, your readers loyal.
Corny but true, dear friend.

Wonderful Doug. I love trees and you. Judi
I like it. Nice parallel. I hope you don't have power lines splitting your head in two though! haha. I wish all power lines could be put underground! Maybe someday, with fiberoptics being added most places, power will go underground along with 'em.
Well I like the picture of the tree and you, Doug!!

Wonderful allegory.
Trees are beautiful, no matter how old they get.
I like the words and picture. The comparison was unique and fun to read. Have a Great Week.
Very nice!
When we lived "up north"(everything is North of us!) I thought it was lovely to see the shape of the trees after the leaves had fallen.
Have a Happy Halloween.
Doug - your poems speak of whimsy in that wonderful tongue-in-cheek style you have. It's good to read your words again. ~ Jeanne
Love the comparison!
Well, Beauty is Beauty, whether spring or summer. We enjoy the view, and sure do like the poetry that goes with it! Keep up the good work, Doug! And tree too!
