R&R NEARBY
Pastoral peace and rest,
Walking paths and benches,
With a view to the west,
Not far from the daily trenches.
-------------------------------------------------
Just a few blocks from our home is Crown Hill Cemetery and the western section was donated to the public by the Cemetery. Across the lake there is a wildlife sanctuary, no public allowed. But there is plenty of land over there for many walking paths. It is possible to circle the lake on foot as well.So it clearly is close to home, we enjoy sitting there and enjoying life and the view. It is also near where our daughter and her husband live so it makes a nice place to stop either going or coming from there.
We are truly fortunate to live on this side of town where the mountains are visible from many points. Seems like wherever we go there are foothills or mountains or North or South Table Mountain in the background.

Your mountains bring joy as the ocean makes me whole...So nice when we appreciate our surroundings
It's beautiful. I've never been to CO, but hope to go one day.
Finding peace in the landscape often forvbears finding peace within ourselves, like when we submerge ourselves in the ocean's tide or the beautiful pictures you took.
RYC: the story has been written thousands of times in similar fashion (prey becomes the hunted)--I merely added my personality to the mixture. Thanks!
You live in such a lovely place. I have good and bad memories of CO. The bad being that's where JouJou picked up the bacteria that may have eventually led to her kidney failure. The good news is that they had excellent vets and most of the years and times we spent there were beautiful. We did get stuck on I 70 and had to wait several hours for a tow truck but...we had beautiful scenery while we waited.
places that we can go which bring us peace... what a gift.
Thanks for stopping by again. You depict such pastoral scenes from the world you enjoy and have been blessed with in the surroundings. It is gentle...and thoughful and God-inspired. You go, guy...and it's really, the only way to go. Now, if the World could only see the gentleness and beauty as only "some" see it, wouldn't it be a much better place to live in? I pray thee God's abundance in this day He has made for you...for us. Bless you.
Wow, Doug, I just read your comment where you told me you broke your neck and it took a year to recover. Would you consider doing a blog about that? It would put my little surgery into perspective. You must have great courage.
So important to have places in nature to feel peaceful.
You both live in such a beautiful place.
that is just beautiful...it's so nice to have places to go that still the heart and quiet the mind.
I would love to visit Colorado one day. I've only been to the airport. I think our two states are the only two where you can walk outside and see mountains everywhere you look.
Yes you are really fortunate to see this landscape from your home
IN friendship
Michel
