  • A WHIFF

    Somewhat swiftly,
    Not at all welcome,
    Facing it stiffly,
    Oncoming weather's bum.

Overnight low of 39 was said,
    Weather man reported,
Think it hit it right on the head,
So, today I a bathrobe and sweats sported.

    Reminds me too well,
    SAD weather ahead,
Tells me that first snow, oh hell,
    Soon will be shed !

    But then  things will cheer,
    Mild sunny weather,
    Shall reappear,
    We'll have another picnic together.

  • You are probably the only one among my Xanga friends, who might remember Pearl Harbor.  More than half of them were born after the Vietnam War ended.  I remember 'Nam and I am considered quite old, like an Edsel grille!

    I appreciate your wise presence.

  • Great poem once again.  (you're probably tired of my saying that, lol)

  • There are people in my fair city who have never seen snow, real snow.  I am not one of them, having been blessed to spend part of my childhood in East Texas (where they do occasionally get real snow) and having gone skiing a few times throughout the years.  Still, I can't say it's missed - chains and accidents and hold-ups and I'm not really a fan of the cold anyway.  Today felt like the first day of fall.  It was wonderful.

  • Hey Doug thanks for the kind words. How are you? Judi

  • I'll trade you weather Doug ;) . It hit 89 here today. I "hate" the heat. I'd prefer a cold snowy winter over this any day ;) . God bless your evening!

  • It is cool in MO right now too. Nice with windows open. Actually got cold and pulled up the covers last night.

  • that first cold wind of the season...

  • you are so right about what is to come.

    let's do have that picnic

  • I love it when it is crisp outside. To have to put on a sweater is more comfortable than not being able to take off enough clothes to stay cool and yet be modest.

  • Yes, Doug we are having very cool weather here right now. It does get down to the 30's or 40's at night. I do like it cooler than it has been, but not looking forward to that bitter cold yet. I could use a few more weeks of summer first.

  • Awww.. brilliant colors of leaves.. the smell divine.

Happy children in costumes..dragging mom and dad behind.

Happy Turkey dressings.. with family all around.

Christmas time laughing.. Ohhh look what I found!

Just made it up.. that how I feel about Fall and winter :)

  • Looking ahead.  You again have put down in words the way it is.

  • Frankly I prefer Springtime than the decline of Fall ! But we have to do with !

    In friendship
    Michel
