WHEN YOU THINKYou have it so bad,
Don't have to look far at all,
To see those who have had,
A much steeper, harmful fall.
An area much larger than California, tonight,
In the clutches of cold and ice,
Trees crashing down, a sight,
Folks without power and heat, in a vise. From what I heard tonight,
It shall continue a while,
What a fright,
Can't cure with a dial.May the sun shine warm there tomorrow,
I'll give up some heat,
Hoping for their less sorrow.
We're okay in our seat.

KC is in the middle of the ice storm, but so far, we are faring better than Oklahoma. Tomorrow may be a different story. We have power, which I will not take for granted!

So many of our Xanga friends are suffering through the icy storms. I WILL NOT complain about our above average temps down here. One week , it's cool. Next week warm again. That's life but to suffer through ice is scary and my hearts and prayers are with those who are lacking in heat.
Continue to be careful and stay safe.

I like how you take current situations and make it poetry in prayer. Of course, it's the only thing, so far, which I like....weatherwise. Here in NC there is a statewide drought. We desperately need water and so many farmers are truly suffering with their immatured harvest. Hay has gone to $9.00 a bail and I've heard it is being trucked from places like Texas. So, some merchants are making a "killing" on the backs of those who are struggling. Why is this malfeasance allowed to continue? I wonder?
Hey, "Dad"! I finally found you! I was gone from Xanga for a few months...then as life slowed down I ventured back on. It's taking me forever to find everyone and comment on their sites. I hope you have been well! I will enjoy reading your poetry again!
It's cold and rainy here this week!
Hugs, C.
PS...I used to be "Empty Nest".
Thankfully, we still have our power even though we have lots of ice hanging all over everything.
