THOSE LAST DAYS
Of warmth and greenth,
Soon to change,
With coolth,
And the appearance of mange. We enjoyed doing errands today,
As our track,
Went by two parks, on the way,
Over and back,
Same route.
Trees changing, it is plain to see,
But the grass is still green,
During the work day,
Humans scarce enough,
Bet they'd have their way,
And do picnic stuff. Two parks, two lakes in a string,
Along I-70 interstate,
Always a treat for me,
Scenery so great. Then on the way home, we face a choice,
Wadsworth Blvd and home ?
Or on to the Western Slope ?
It would be so fun to roam,
But trying to not be a dope,
I again opted for home.

Are your trees coloring well this season? Ours aren't doing much color at all this year. Maybe due to the late ice storm and not enough rain this summer.
Wish our nature park was as pretty, but also glad it is a nature park for critters. Cities take so much from them.
Fall/Winter is strange here...we barely have seasons
Adventure often only comes the day we opt to go on the untraveled road.
Ola Doug... I have missed you. I have been absent from Xanga and am likely to go AWOL again soon, but I had to come by and say hey. I thought the slow arrival of fall was a Texas thing, but I have heard today from New York and now Colorado that it is everywhere... what is up with that? I bet next week everything will go red, gold and brown... what do you think? And then they changed Daylight Savings Time... do you think the trees know?
