  • FROM AN ANCIENT

    DSCN9425
A stone bench at our old Main Postoffice in our town,
    Has words of wisdom engraved,
Simple and short, and written down,
In our hearts should be saved.

"If thou desire rest, desire not too much."
    I took them to heart,
    Pondering his simplicty of speech,
    And deepest meanings, to start.

    Googled I the quotation,
Found that Francis Quarles wrote it,
In life I know not his station,
I shall know more,  I'll Google  the bit.

    Francis Quarles in his Enchyridon
    Born 1592  Died 1644

  • Loved viewing your golden photos.  I am pretty positive our fall will be nothing at all.

Spots like the above photo displays are good places for people watching and some candid shots.  I could use a spot like it.  The poem is one I don't go with a lot.  I need rest, lots of it but hope the eternal waits a while.

Have a super week.  Not sure if you look at your feedback log, left a comment on your previous.

  • Very wise words.

  • These words are something to look at twice.  We used to have quotes on our bus stop benches.

  • I love quotes.  I could sit and read a book of quotes all day long.

You got somebody out there in the World Series?
