    Today I wuz a pirate,
    Brave and bold,
    Yesterday an eskimo,
    Out in the cold,
Tomorrow – to the west I’ll go,
Be a cowboy with tales to be told,
    ‘N’ then,  guess I’ll grow,
Into a man and get old.

Been there – - done that,  wore out the tee-shirt.   Had fun on the way,  and still am in joy.

  • Gosh, does that poem bring back memories, Doug. I was a real tomboy and played Cowboys and Indians a lot. It was a lot of fun living in a land of make believe. I think our generation was always coming up with new games to play, as we had no tv for entertainment. We had to entertain ourselves. Thanks for the memories. (((( hugs))))

  • Big smile! Love this entry! How odd that we as a culture tend to fear aging…you have shown us all that life is this grand series of sequences to embrace and marvel at. Thanks for keeping that delicate balance to the reality of living – and sharing it so generously! ~ Jeanne

  • Aw, what a sweet poem. I can relate to it all. You know, I never played a cowgirl. I was always a cowboy.
