- – - – AT NIGHT IN THE YARD – - – -
After dark, if I had been good,
Mom often said,
“I guess you could,
If you in the yard stayed,
Go out and enjoy the warm evening.
I would go out and quietly,
Do my normal, Cricket hunt,
And nightly,
A cricket would chirp,
Slightly.
But even outdoors, in the dark,
I never found one,
Got close and had a lark,
What would I have I done,
Had I made the capture ? ? ? ?

Good question. Let it go, I’m guessing, to be chased another night.
Very Interesting indeed? I wonder what also.
You are a doll.
thank you for the joy of you.
I love to hear the crickets on a warm, summer evening. For some reason, it makes me very nostalgic. Trust you’re enjoying spingtime in the Rockies.
My dad used to let all my catches go after I went to bed. He would always claimed they must have escaped.

I’d spend a night catching fireflies. Seldom seen now days.
