  • Little to say today,
    Hurtin’ some,
Could be worse in many a way,
    Another radiation treatment to come,
    This afternoon, today.

Supposed to have a consult from Doc,
Wonder which way he shall point my prow ?
    Now?

I’ll try to let you all know,
    Later when we get home.
    ‘Til then,
    Sayonara . . . . . . .

  • Cancer sucks.  My mom went through it when I was a senior in high school and then the next year her best friend’s teenage daughter did.  We made banners and bumper stickers and tended to have a very dark sense of humor.

Still, we found that laughing at it was the best and easiest way to deal with it.

    Praying for you friend.

  • Praying for you. :)

  • It is so good to see your post! I hope your radiation goes well and you are comfortable with it. My young niece survived breast cancer and a year later lung cancer with radiation. That could be you. Let’s pray it is so. Keep your chin up and know we love you and pray for you!

  • I’m with the others—it is so wonderful to see you and your humor here again!  Had been thinking about you a lot.  Bonnie had been keeping us posted, which we appreciated, but it is best to hear from you in person—well, not in “person”, but you know what I mean!  Good luck with the rest of your treatments.  You are still in my prayers—Hannah, too.

  • I am really tickled to see you writing a little.  I know things are on the rough side but it makes my day to see your words on the page.

  • I didn’t notice that you had a new post up til now, a week after you wrote it! Oh gosh, it’s wonderful to hear from you! Thanks so much for making the effort, Doug. You’ve really made my day.
You aren’t giving the nurses any trouble, are you?
Oh, how could I think you’d do anything like that?
Can we figure out a manual or something that would help other people our age navigate the wonderful world of medicine? It’s sure one weird and time-consuming place, isn’t it.
Blessings and strength to you and Heather.

  • Hey, Sweet Daddy Doug!!! How are you doing?!?!? I’ve been thinking about you and praying for you!

I was away Friday – Tuesday…and now I’m playing catch-up before I go out of town again this Saturday. Ugh. This traveling every weekend is getting old. Anyway, please know that even though I’m not around much right now, I’m thinking of you and wishing you well. Hopefully my life will settle down soon and I can keep in touch better.

    Again…Hugs and Prayers,

    C.
